What is the Roseau Smart Lab?
Developed between 2020 and 2022 to validate our experimental Grid ExpanDER solution under near real-world conditions, the Roseau Smart Lab accurately reproduces the behavior of a real low-voltage electrical network.
It’s an analog model representing a twelve-home residential area at a 1:100 scale, uniquely featuring a real smart metering infrastructure. Each home has a controllable photovoltaic installation.
This unique setup is ideal for testing Smart Grid solutions!

Technical Specifications
The Roseau Smart Lab is equipped as follows:
- 1:100 scale LV network: three-phase lines, controllable loads, photovoltaic inverters, photovoltaic panel emulators.
- G3 PLC smart metering infrastructure: meters, communication gateway.
- Additional sensors and communication means allowing for precise measurement of the network’s electrical state.
