MV
+LV
Each of the provided networks consists of a Medium Voltage feeder, its Medium Voltage to Low Voltage transformers, and all the Low Voltage feeders located downstream.
OPEN
DATA
The dataset is made available under Open Licence version 2.0, promoting its use, reuse, and sharing.
OPEN
FORMAT
The electrical models of the networks are provided in an open JSON format, easy to import into any solver and directly readable by Roseau Load Flow.

Methodology
Dataset Construction
This dataset was developed using open data from reliable sources, such as French network maps published by the ORE agency, local energy consumption data, and building geometries provided by the IGN (BDTOPO).
Roseau Technologies enriched the data to statistically estimate missing technical information: conductor section and material, transformer rated power, etc.
This advanced cartographic model of the French distribution network was then subjected to electrical modeling. However, the volume of data (approximately 30,000 MV feeders and downstream LV networks) did not allow for simulations on the entire network simultaneously.
To facilitate the use of the dataset, statistical sampling was carried out by the PERSEE Center of Mines Paris – PSL. Thus, 150 networks were selected using advanced clustering algorithms, ensuring a balanced distribution of representative cases across the French territory. Therefore, based on simulations carried out on the representative networks, it is possible to extrapolate results to the national level via the coefficients provided.
The details of the methodology applied are available in the following repository:
